FAQs and Tutorials 22 May 2007

We’re in the process of moving all of our documentation over to a wiki in preparation of our 1.0 launch. There have been requests in the forums for a wiki for a while, and we agree that it’ll be a better way of managing documentation (and allowing it to become a community effort).

We were going through the forums to find frequently asked questions and frequently requested tutorials, and wanted to get your input as well. What questions do you think we should add to a FAQ? What tutorials do you think should be made available? Post about them in the comments, and we’ll get working on them. :)

I hope you plan to keep the forums up along with the wiki.

Of course we will. The forums and the wiki have two different purposes, and we will definitely be keeping both of them.

I can not log in to my new account in support. So, I now this is not the right place for questions like this: “I am using simplepie multifeed source for site, and there is more than 200 feeds selected, and now after one month of working site loads too slowly, sometimes it takes 2-3 minutes…”. Any ideas? Any expierence with that? I am showing only last 50 feeds on site.

I realize I’m probably betraying an unfathomable noobness with this request, but what the heck:

I would love to see the actual sample code needed to turn a WordPress install into an RSS aggregator, with each post echoing the headline and permalink from the feed/site it’s pulling from. I’ve been fiddling with The Loop, trying to rename the proper functions, but no luck.

I’m basically going for creating a lifestream site from a number of blogs I write for, which reminds me: is it possible to pull from more than one feed at once? Or do I need to do something like create an aggregator feed at Yahoo Pipes and plug that into SimplePie? Thanks for any help.

Ryan/Geoffrey…there is a new group on facebook.com called “RSS Technology Gurus”. It would be great if you could join and make some mention of Simplepie
